She describes attending a holistic nursing conference in 2015 and hearing Dr. Keith Blevens explain the inside-out nature of psychological experience. The chapter follows the change in her understanding and the path that led her into nurse coaching.
Teresa also shares Lyn McCright’s story and their shared vision for nursing.
The chapter introduces Mind, Thought, and Consciousness—the Three Principles first articulated by Sydney Banks—and explores their implications for resilience, compassion, and nursing practice.

Teresa Walding is a board-certified nurse coach, educator, entrepreneur, writer, and consultant with more than 30 years of nursing experience. She is Co-Founder and Associate Director of Advancing Nurse Coaching and Founder of Teresa Walding Consulting, PLLC. Her work includes developing continuing education, mentoring nurses, writing for nursing publications, and presenting at professional conferences.
Discovering the Three Principles in 2015 changed her life and became the foundation of her teaching and coaching. She helps people explore this understanding and its implications for their lives and work.

Lyn is Co-Founder and Director of Advancing Nurse Coaching. Her nursing background spans clinical practice, nursing education, public health, home health, and hospice.
She brings more than 30 years of coaching experience to her work with nurses and healthcare professionals. Her teaching explores resilience and innate well-being through the Three Principles understanding.
