Students are eligible to sit for board certification through American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC) after completing (at least) the first three courses (20 CEs each) in our 4-course “Healing the Whole Person” Holistic Health Coach / Nurse Coach Program (click here to learn more).

Nurse Coach and Holistic Nurse Certifications
Become a Nurse Coach. Become a Holistic Nurse.
Students are eligible to sit for board certification for both Nurse Coaching & Holistic Nursing through American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC) after completing the first three courses (20 CEs each) in our “Healing the Whole Person” Program.
“Healing the Whole Person” is our Premier Nurse Coaching & Health Coaching Program and it includes 4 online self-paced courses, led by our experienced nurse coach instructors and pioneer nurse leaders Lyn McCright & Teresa Walding.
The first 3 courses are available as a “Nurse Certification Preparation” Course Package (register here).
Nurse Coach Certification
Professional Board Certification
A Nurse Coach (or nurse health coach) is a registered nurse (RN) who has received additional training in health coaching techniques, strategies and principles. Nurse coaching combines the skills and knowledge of nursing with the strategies of coaching to support individuals in achieving their health and wellness goals.
Nurse Coaching is a professional board certification through the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC).
Requirements to sit for nurse coach certification exams:
- Active practice as a licensed registered nurse (RN)*
- 60 holistic CEs
- included in our 3-course & 4-course program
- 60 hours of supervised hours of coaching
- included in our 3-course & 4-course program
Holistic Nurse Certification
Professional Board Certification
A Holistic Nurse is a healthcare professional who practices holistic nursing, which is an approach to patient care that considers the whole person— body, mind, and spirit —when providing treatment.
Holistic Nursing emphasizes the interconnectedness of various aspects of a person’s well-being and focuses on promoting optimal health and wellness.
Holistic Nursing is a professional board certification through the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC).
Requirements to sit for holistic nurse certification:
- Active practice as a licensed registered nurse (RN)*
- 48 holistic CEs
- included in our 3-course & 4-course program
- Each course in our series offers 20 holistic CEs
- understanding of the Core Values of Holistic Nursing (resources @ AHNCC & AHNA)
Health Coach Certificate
Our school’s own Health Coach Certificate.
This coaching certificate is available to students upon completion of all four courses in our signature 4-course certificate program, Healing the Whole Person.
All licensed health professionals are eligible for this certificate of completion.
Upon completion, you will receive:
- 80 holistic CEs
- Certificate of Completion
- & for nurses: eligibility to sit for both Holistic Nurse & Nurse Coach certifications

Certification Process
Advancing Nurse Coaching Certificate:
- Requests for certification may be made upon completion of coursework and with proof of coaching hours submitted to faculty members.
- Qualified coaching hours are included in the cost of tuition.
- Supervisory hours beyond course completion are available.
